Our story

Where comfort meets nature

Sage Beds was created from a simple realization: what we sleep on matters as much as how we live. Every mattress and bedding piece we make is built with certified organic materials, clear standards, and a commitment to health, comfort, and longevity—so sleep can feel natural, restorative, and uncomplicated.

OUR BEGINNING

Why we chose a different path

Sagebeds began with a moment of awakening.

While searching for a mattress that offered real comfort and proper support, we uncovered something unsettling. Many mattresses were filled with synthetic foams, chemical flame retardants, and materials we would never knowingly bring into other parts of our lives. What was meant to restore the body each night was quietly compromising it instead. That realization changed everything.

We began asking a simple but powerful question: why should comfort, support, and health be a trade-off? Sleep is the foundation of wellbeing, yet the products designed for it often ignore the body, the environment, and long-term health. Sagebeds was created to challenge that norm.

Responsibility before convenience

Clarity in what you sleep on

Every choice we make begins with responsibility. Responsibility to the people who sleep on our products, to the environments where our materials come from, and to the long-term impact of what we create. In an industry built around speed and scale, we choose restraint. We prioritize sourcing over shortcuts, transparency over trends, and thoughtful craftsmanship over mass production. Because how something is made matters just as much as how it feels.

Health-First Materials

We refuse to use fiberglass, chemical flame retardants, or unnecessary synthetics. What you sleep on should support your wellbeing, not compromise it.

Honest Construction

No hidden layers. No vague material claims. We believe clarity builds trust, and trust starts with transparency.

Built for Longevity

Our mattresses are engineered for consistent support, breathability, and durability—designed to perform year after year.

Our Certifications

Certified where it matters

Our materials and processes are verified through independent standards, including GOTS, GOLS, Greenguard, OEKO-TEX®, CertiPUR-US®, ECO Institut, and REPREVE®. These certifications help ensure safety, integrity, and accountability across our products.

OUR NON-NEGOTIABLES

What we refuse to compromise on

We believe trust is built not only by what a company does, but by what it refuses to do.

At Sagebeds, we take a clear and uncompromising approach to materials. We never use fiberglass in any form, rely on chemical flame retardants, or include petroleum-based foams when natural alternatives are available.

We also believe in full transparency—no materials are hidden behind marketing language or unclear labels. Simply put, if a material doesn’t belong in a healthy home, it doesn’t belong in a Sagebeds product.

Respecting where materials begin

From organic farms in New Zealand to workshops here in the United States, our materials are sourced with care and respect for origin. We believe responsible sourcing is about more than certifications. It’s about understanding where materials come from, how they’re harvested, and the ecosystems and communities behind them. When materials are treated with respect, the final product reflects it.

CRAFT & CARE

Made with intention, not shortcuts

Every Sagebeds mattress is handcrafted and assembled in California using a blend of domestic and responsibly sourced materials. Skilled hands, not automated compression lines, bring our products to life.

This slower, more intentional process allows us to maintain quality, reduce unnecessary waste, and ensure each product meets our standards before it reaches your home.

Sleep deserves intention

As awareness grows around what we eat, wear, and breathe, we believe sleep deserves the same thoughtful consideration. The hours we spend resting shape how we live, move, and feel each day, and those hours should be clean, restorative, and intentionally supported. This is Sagebeds—a quieter alternative and a more considered way to sleep.
